If you’re anything like me then nail polish is a must have! There is not a day that goes by that I don’t have a gorgeous colour on my nails, I usually get my BF to pick as I have so many stunning colours… nnd now to add to the ever-growing collection already taking over my bathroom is the new range by Nicole OPI, The Kardashian Kolors!

The kaptivating Kardashians don’t stop at anything do they? The family can officially check nail polish off of their list of branded endeavors.. I can’t help but be impressed by their determination. The 14 color collection, featuring everything from rainbow glitter and bright coral to neutral taupe and white.. And their names alone, adorable! – All Kendall-ed Up, Sealed with a Kris, Kim-pletely In Love, Khloé Had a Little Lam-Lam, Kourt is Red-y for a Pedi, Rainbow in the S-kylie. My Top Five Summer Beauty Buys <3

So we all know that summer is being a little naughty and hiding from us at the moment, but as a typical Kiwi I’m not losing faith that it’s coming. So, in preparation, here are my favourite summer loves, to kick-start the year with. Enjoy!

1. Sunblock ladies. I know you see it preached everywhere you look these days but that’s because we know what we’re talking about. Sunblock prevents fine lines, pigmentation and the big C.
My favourite is Neutrogena Advanced Sunscreen SPF 100 +. The sun won’t dare go near you with this lil beauty. The claims: Ultra light, clean feel, non-greasy, leaves skin soft and smooth, waterproof, sweatproof, resists rub-off, light fresh scent, oil free and PABA free. The results: All of the above! I use this daily after my moisturiser and I feel so safe without the heaviness. This is a must try ladies, oh – and men, too.

2. Essie Nail polish – I like to arm myself with cocktail Bling’ says Essie… And I agree, they’re just divine! The colours are soft yet somehow striking. I’m personally in love with Bangle Jangle, a soft lavender colour, perfect for those summer BBQs with fingers delicately wrapped around a glass of vino. Check them out at essie.com

3. Wrinkle-hiding tanner. Finally, a two-in-one product that gives a natural glow and fills fine lines: my ultimate dream product. Clarins Instant Smooth Self Tanning slides on over moisturizer, and there’s no need to use foundation – perfect for a light summer glow day to day.

4. Skin luminizers. They add radiance to your complexion and that extra added ‘pop’ to those glorious summer days by topping your regular bronzer with a highlighting pink or peach blush. Contour your cheekbones using a matte bronzer then add some shimmer for a healthy glow. I’m in heart with the long-lasting powder options from Bobbi Brown (Shimmer Brick pictured above left) and Estée Lauder (Bronze Goddess Soleil pictured above right). Soft reflections = Dreamy.

5. Dior Addict Lip Glow Color Reviver Balm. This angel has made it to a ‘keeper’ status in my books. An easy as 1,2,3 Summer Health Kick!

One of my new absolute favorite things is a Green Smoothie. It’s a fast, easy, and delicious way to get a big dose of vitamins and minerals, plus it tastes AMAZING!

Ok I have to admit, I’m a bit of a skeptic when it comes to the colour green when it comes to food. I get vege’s they’re delicious – but generally in a smoothie… lets just say I would turn the other way… that’s until Jessie Gurunathan showed us at the Russell Hobbs Media Release with the handy dandy Multi Hand Blender that not only was it so simple to make but so, yes it’s coming – DELICIOUS!!

Don’t let the color’s fool you!! It is sweet and filling and it’s a great way to sneak in some powerful green nutrition into your diet. I’ve been making my own smoothies now at home after my morning workout (- or morning near death experience it’s now known as! Getting back in shape is hard work!) The Smoothie fills me up, stops me from craving such a huge breakfast, makes me feel healthy which in turn has me feeling good about myself and it’s killed my afternoon sugar cravings which I’ve never been able to resist! I’m amazed!!

So I have your attention now? Well It’s super fast to make and a great breakfast or snack option, especially for people on the go and those looking to lose weight. It takes about 5 minutes to make, literally!! and There are always leftovers so you can save them for the 5pm pre dinner craving as well. I just see tick tick tick when I look at this! Shall I mention great for you’re digestive health, supporting the immune system, glowing skin, hair, nails – even you’re eyes become brighter!!

Jessie’s recipe is great for us newbies to the ‘Green Smoothie’ , she mentions you can mix and match the fruists and veggie’s you like and start adding to them as you choose, (I used spinach as I didn’t have time to head to the health-foods shop this week – delicious!!).

JESSIE GURUNATHAN’S GLOWING GREEN SMOOTHIE RECIPE

Your 5 plus a day, all in one go!

Ingredients
1 1/2 cups fresh coconut water/H2Coco water/filtered water
1 head kale or cavolo nero
1/2 head of a large bunch or 3/4 of a small bunch of spinach
1 cup of diced pineapple
1/2 cup of diced rock melon
1/2 cup of diced strawberries
1 organic pear, cored and diced
1 organic banana
1/2 cup of diced cucumber

Optional: mint and lemon juice to taste

Directions
Layer ingredients in order from hardest to softest in your blending unit. Blend until smooth. Drink immediately or refrigerate. (Mine lasted two breakki’s fyi.

Well the stat’s are in and it appears that us; kiwi ladies would prefer to kiss our men’s cheeks when they’re as smooth as a babies bum!

We all hear the men groaning that they don’t want to shave all the time because of their ‘such sensitive chins’ and the neck – lets not even go there… hearing a man groan about shaving rash is about as painful as them listening to us moan about period cramps, it’s just not pretty. A new Addition to the Daily Skin Care Routine!

A new lil beauty from Nivea, the setting of my little pic of Nivea’s new Daily Essentials Light Moisturising Day Cream was the easiest way to explain how scrumptious the moisturizer feels on my skin – with the back drop of our beautiful beach and Pohutukawa tree, both with leave you feeling fresh, clean, natural and beautiful – exactly what we all look for in a product. And with natural lotus extract, a flower which the ancient Egyptians believed gave them strength and power – you can’t fault this little bottle of heaven.. This is most certainly going into my daily skin care routine, without a doubt!
